特定活動ビザは、すでに解説した「就労ビザ」や「留学ビザ」など、他のどの在留資格にも該当しない活動を行う外国人に与えられる、特別な在留資格の総称です。
このビザは、法務大臣が個々の状況に応じて特別に指定する活動を許可するために設けられています。そのため、非常に幅広い活動が対象となり、一人ひとりの事情に合わせて許可されることが特徴です。
特定の目的や状況がある場合に申請されるため、他のビザと比べて申請者の個別の状況がより重視されます。ご自身の活動内容が、一般的なビザのどれにも当てはまらないと感じた場合は、この特定活動ビザが選択肢となるかもしれません。
A Designated Activities Visa is a special category of status of residence for foreign nationals who engage in activities that do not fall under any of the other common statuses, such as "work visa" or "student visa."
This visa was created to allow activities specifically designated by the Minister of Justice on a case-by-case basis. As a result, it covers a very wide range of activities and is characterized by its adaptability to individual circumstances.
Because it is applied for in specific situations, an applicant's individual circumstances are weighed more heavily compared to other visas. If you feel that your intended activities do not fit into any of the standard visa categories, the Designated Activities Visa might be an option for you.
